I know you have heard of TOMS Shoes, and your probably woundering what is so great about them. Right? No worries, I was in that same boat about six months back. As horrible as it is to say, my first encounter with Tom's Shoes was not a good one. A friend and I were approached by a girl that neither of us knew. Which is usually with us, we like meeting new people. This time, However, it was very not ok with us. First she asked us if we had ever heard of Tom's Shoes (sounds normal so far), but when our answers were both "no" she proceeded to take her shoe off and shove it just inches from our faces so we could read the inside of her shoe. The logo really peaked my interest especially after seeing the one for one slogan, but I wasn't about to ask her since all I wanted was to get her shoe out of smelling distance. Unfortunately, it wasn't until days later that I was able to see past the horrid shoe encounter and remembered the Tom's Shoes name. I promptly decided to check it out and I was IMPRESSED!!! Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Tom's Shoes, started his business based on the idea that he could give away a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes he sold.
